Tiki Code Cracked!

• Pre: Tiki Bar Soap -- Dead Sea Facial
• Razor: Cobra Classic
• Blade: Feather Professional (9)
• Brush: Mühle VIVO Black Fibre -- Horn
• Soap: Tiki Bar vegan shave soap -- Woody
• AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

Image

Well I have been underestimating the Tiki Bar vegan shave soap. Even though it is made after MdC I've been loading it for twice as long as I normally do on MdC. This was resulting in very thick & heavy lather. It was also sticky and not rinsing off my razor well, but strangely it never dried out. After speaking with a couple fellas who are more experienced in the Tiki ways than I we determined what I thought was the culprit; over-loading. Today I only loaded a few seconds more than I do with MdC and I was rewarded with my best lather yet; still dense, cushy, & slick but now not heavy feeling and the stickiness was also gone. My razor rinsed effortlessly today.

The biggest disappoint of today's shave was actually the Cobra. As a veteran of over 100 Cobra shaves I know how to use this razor for my face. However, a razor design pattented almost a century ago is completely spoiling me. It shaves me as close as the Cobra without the concern & concentration needed to charm the snake. You know, Cobra never could defeat the Joes. I guess I finally stumbled upon the leader of the Joes; General MCMXIV!

Make it a great day for others!

SUNDAY A.M.
PRE: Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Liquid Face Wash, ex. strength
SHAVE SOAP: Valobra puck, cologne
BRUSH: Simpson PL8
RAZOR: Gem 1914 with Gem PTFE SS (4)
POST: Crystal deo stick as an after-shave astringent
Clubman A/S
Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Post Shave Healer
2 full passes and a fair amount of blade buffing about the chin and jaw yielded a fine, close
shave, but at the cost of some minor irritation. Is the new Valobra possibly a bit less protective
than Czech & Speake??? Something to explore? And Brian/Sharpspine's post about how good the
Gem 1914 is versus the vaunted Cobra may have hit on something. The Gem(s) really do allow
you to attack the beard with considerably less trepidation than with the Cobra, with fewer nicks
and less irritation. Hmmmm....
Enjoying wet shaving, again.
