Monday AM 01-06-2014

Dirty Bird 1.5 scuttle
Rudy Vey real ivory Chubby 1 D01 2-Band (23/47)
Proraso Red shaving cream (vintage)
Weber DLC
Wilkinson Falcon (4) (vintage)
Floris Elite aftershave balm

Each time I use it, I am reminded of how wonderful this old Proraso cream is; its skin care is so good that the balm was almost unnecessary. And the D01 knot, having lost its initial scratchiness, now has soft tips while retaining its great backbone and flowthrough.

Modern Razor
Astra SP
WSP Prince Silvertip
Seagrapes Studio Bay Rum Lime Shave Soap
Every Man Jack Mint Post Shave Balm
AXE Impulse After Shave
World Market Scuttle
The Modern is an extremely smooth shaver. Three easy passes to BBS. I like this razor a lot. Light weight at 45 grams and although the handle is very smooth I found no slipping during my shave.

MONDAY, LATE A.M.
PRE: QED French Red Clay face soap
SHAVE SOAP: AOS Lavender, Tallow
BRUSH: Simpson PL8, Super
RAZOR: Gem 1914, with Gem PTFE SS (4)
POST: Thai Crystal deo stick as A/S astringent GFT Portugal, EdT, transferred from lousy but handsome glass pour bottle to cheap, effective plastic spray bottle
Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Post Shave Healer
Just 2 1/2 passes and another very close and comfortable shave. Although like many here, I am awaiting the new HuntLee razor, in fact someone will first have to take the hit for the team and convince me it will give me, day-in, day-out, the kind of fabulous results $ 20-30 Gems routinely provide.
Merry "Little Christmas"! (belated)
Enjoying wet shaving, again.
