-- Monday--

Prep: hot water wash with Stirling bath soap
Razor: Frankenrazor made of Hallmark top plate, Fatip base plate and Ikon bulldog handle
Blade: Treet Platinum (1)
Brush: B&B Essentials boar by Omega
Soap: Mike's Natural Rose & Cedarwood sample
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers alcohol free witch hazel

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Excellent shave and Mike's Rose and Cedarwood is on my list to get. Just a fantastic scent. I finished my sample of it today. Never tried Treet Platinum blades and got them as a freebie with something else. Not bad on shave 1. Not the sharpest or smoothest, but very respectable blade. B&B Essentials boar brush is my very favorite boar brush ever. I have not been using my boars since it's cold now and they don't stay as warm as badgers, but I felt drawn to it today and was again reminded how much I love this brush.

After workout shave today

Razor: Muhle R89 Grande with Feather (3)
Prep: Nivea scrub
Cream: Speick
Brush: Saville Row 3824
Bowl: Hand thrown bowl (see below)
Post: Speick splash/Nivea sensitive ASB

Just a little tribute to one of my favorite shave toys -- my bowl. My wife got me 2 bowls for Christmas. I use this guy for creams. It's awesome. Perfect size. I put very hot water in it while I shower and soak my brush of the day. It's got enough mass it stays warm for the whole shave. Today, with an almond size dollop of the Speick and the most awesome SR 3824, I frothed up a mound of meringue like foam enough for 5 passes if I wanted. After trying to whip MWF into submission face lathering (and not doing a great job), It was a treat to have something that was so easy to lather.

Speick is becoming my weekday regular. It's not too perfumey.

Now, the bowl:

Nice bowl. I also like hearing about the prodigious achievements of Savile Rows. :)
