FRIDAY, A.M.
PRE: QED French Red Clay facial soap
SHAVE SOAP: Czech & Speake Oxford Cambridge
SHAVE BRUSH: Simpson's Duke 2 Best
RAZOR/BLADE: Gem G Bar with Gem PTFE SS (4)
POST ,,,Crystal deo alum ..... Clubman Eau de Portugal tonic as A/S ..... Clinique for Men Post Shave Healer
Remarkable lather and a fine shave, considering at 4 shaves the Gem SS blade will say farewell. Smooth and close, zero
irritation in 2 1/'2 passes.
When I read these SOTD posts, it's remarkable to see the variety of products we all use. Experienced shavers all, with few
common denominators... yet each of us seemingly happy with our personal choices.
Sometimes when I think I'm in a rut, I try to imagine what I might change... and little comes to mind. Choosing from
5-6 soaps, 2-3 brushes, 3 -4 razors is about all my mind can deal with.
When the results are consistently fabulous, so hard to justify far-out experiments!
Don't forget to Hug Your Honey this Valentine Day!
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Good evening. Friday:

No shave- yesterday's shave was one of those special two day shaves.
Best,
Chris

-- Saturday--

Prep: hot water wash with Stirling bath soap
Razor: Frankenrazor made of Hallmark top plate, Fatip base plate and Ikon bulldog handle
Blade: Derby (1)
Brush: Barbear Classico 2013 LE Mistura #18/100
Soap: Stirling Black Cumin and Orange
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Simpson Aftershave Balm

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Stirling soap is not doing it for me. I keep getting nicks with it. Something about its protection. Glide is good, but I keep drawing blood. I have some older samples, so please do not dismiss your Stirling soaps yet. I may have older formulation. If so, it really did need improvement. The scents are heavenly, the lather looks and feels good, but the shave is always lacking in protection.

BC Mistura is an awesome brush and every time I use it I like it more.
