MONDAY MORNING
PRE: QED French Red Clay face soap
SHAVE SOAP: AoS Tallow, unscented
BRUSH: Somerset Simpson Duke 2, best
RAZOR/BLADE: Gem MM Clog-Pruf with Gem PTFE SS (5)
POST SHAVE: styptic pencil .... Alum deo stick as post shave astringent ... Clubman A/S .... Simpson ASB
With my AoS Lavender tallow reduced to a pitiable tiny shell, I jumped at the chance to snag some unscented
tallow on B/S/T (thanks PhilC) and today it saw its first use. An how nice it was. I don't overweight fragrance
in my soap ratings, so an unscented soap isn't a negative at all and one that provides rich, slick, lather and a
great shave is particularly welcome.
So smooth and a shave with a Gem blade on its 5th outing is most unusual, but I won't push it any further!
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

-- Monday--

Prep: hot water wash with Stirling bath soap
Razor: Frankenrazor made of Hallmark top plate, Fatip base plate and Ikon bulldog handle
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (2)
Brush: Semogue Owners Club 2012 SE mixed hair
Soap: GFT Rose
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Simpson Aftershave Balm

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Good shave, but got a little razor burn not sure why. Nothing bad, but some redness on the nech, which I have not experienced in a long time. The amount of lather I got from GFT puck was a little scary using the SOC SE. I've been using Mike's lately and load that for about a minute to get lots of good Mike's lather. With GFT I got twice as much lather with a minute load. this brush is amazing.

C&E BBB
Cella
40s SuperSpeed
Gillette Yellow (3)

Cella never disappoints. The C&E brush takes it up and face lathers in no time. Blade and razor are among my best combinations. Perfect ten-minute shave with no dryness.

Vferdman,
As I am just now beginning a month-long(?) "test" of the Simpson ASB, please share how the Simpson
handled the mild irritation from today's shave1
Thanks,
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Plisson synthetic brush
TOBS Jermyn Street cream

A gem of a razor. The Plisson lathers like crazy and is very BK4-ish.
