Georgetown Pottery G20 scuttle
Somerset Simpson Polo 14 Manchurian (32mm/70mm)
Buckingham Palace shaving cream (vintage)
Feather AS-D2
Personna Advanced Electrocoated (3)
Floris Elite aftershave balm

A strange shave this morning. For some reason, the PL14, which usually has no trouble, was unable to whip the BP into a good thick lather; it just remained thin and runny. Yet the lather provided tremendous slick glide, the best I've had from a cream in quite a while.

Prep: Warm Water splash
Razor: Schick Hydro5
Brush: Semogue 830 w/clear and red handle

Method: Smear soap on bothe cheeks and neck; face lather with hottest water
Post: 4 water rinses using washcloth. No aftershave needed, left with great rose scent.
Result: True bbs with 3 oases and a little polishing.

FRIDAY A.M.
PRE: Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Liquid Face Wash, ex. strength
SHAVE SOAP: Haslinger Calendula
SHAVE BRUSH: Somerset Simpson Duke 3, Best
RAZOR/BLADE: Gem 1914 with Gem SE PTFE SS (1)
POST SHAVE: Clubman styptic pencil .. Crystal alum deo stick as aftershave astringent ... Clubman Eau de Portugal Tonic as aftershave ... Simpson ASB
One small nick on my neck was the only flaw in this 2-pass shave. The new Gem blade, bolstered by with the lush lather provided by the Haslinger, meant
those whiskers had no chance whatsoever. Truth be known, there was a temptation to accept the terrific results after the first pass alone, but as there
was plenty of time this morning, a second pass left me with a truly glorious shave and happy skin.
I looked closely at the Cobra Classic razor sitting on our vanity and wondered how I could possibly justify returning to it on any regular basis. Several of my
Gem Razors with PTFE blades simply deliver fine shaves, day in and day out, with little care or effort and superior comfort.
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Merkur 39C slant
Kroger Blade Made in Israel ( 6 )
Harris Lavender Soap
Simpson's Berkeley badger best
Old Spice AS

Shave 6 still smooth but I decided that
six shaves are enough. For me these
blades work very well. To be fair though
I do not have heavy or tough facial hair
so this would have to make a difference.

Saturday Midnight Shave

Coming down with either the flu or a bad sinus infection. Needed a midnight refresher. Hot steam from the vaporizer to open up the sinuses then a hot towel soak.

Just a quick one pass shave:

Oil: Village Barber
Balm: Village Barber
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Astra SP

Image

Very refreshing. Now to take some drugs and try to get rid of this.

Saturday

Gillette #58 razor & polsilver iridium
Simpsons tulip 3 in two band super
Taylor's almond shave cream
D.R. Harris pink aftershave
Taylor's shaving shop cologne

For a long time (after they became unavailable, of course) I lusted after a Rooney 3/1 in finest. My T3 has a particularly nice knot of white cap super, and damned if it leaves me feeling deprived in any way.
