Prep: hot water wash with bath soap
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow with New Improved head
Blade: Feather (8)
Brush: Vintage Certifyd restored with 28mm Omega Boar knot
Soap: Mike's Natural Lemongrass and Eucalyptus
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers's witch hazel
Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Excellent shave. This is the largest boar brush I have ever used. The knot is the same as used in Pro 49, but I set it slightly lower. 28mm knot/60mm loft. What an amazing brush! I absolutely love it. It's like no other boar brush I used. I always thought it would be too large, but it's not, it's perfect. Whipped up an incredible amount of lather from Mike's in 40 seconds of loading. Amazing!
Another thing that is amazing is that this was my 8th shave on the Feather blade. The shave was great, but I retired the blade after this shave. I think I could have used it more, but I would have to use lots of pressure and I really do not want my technique to go there. Even so, 8 shaves is at least twice what I get from most other blades.
