TUESDAY EARLY A.M.
PRE: Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Liquid Face Wash, ex-strength
SHAVE SOAP: C&S Oxford and Cambridge
SHAVE BRUSH: Somerset Simpson Duke 2, best
RAZOR/BLADE: Cobra Classic with Kai Captain Mild
POST SHAVE: Crystal alum deo as astringent ... RiteAid version of A/V Iced Blue ... Clinique Post Shave Healer .... AND, much later, Clubman Styptic Powder
Another 5 a.m. insomnia shave with good results as to the shave, but not for he insomnia. And an hour or so later, sensing a bit of stubble on the chin, a return
to the sink and a quick, clumsy XTG pass with only water as lube, and, bingo, a nasty 3/8" gash which bled profusely. What a dummy!!
On a more positive note, for the past several days have left the Oxford and Cambridge soap uncapped on the vanity and SWMBO has commented on the really
pleasant scent permeating the bathroom. When I hold the cake to my nose, it's nice, sure, but it's really terrific lingering in the air!
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Tuesday nights shave was simple but smooth. For my soap I chose the French made L'Ancienne peppermint. It's the one that contains 10% donkey milk. Excellent soap and the peppermint is pure and simple. Nothing complicated about it. The brush was the HIS 1994 Synthetic with the black handle bought from Fendrihan a few weeks ago. This brush is turning out to be a home run, in terms of meeting my expectations. The razor was the Noxzema/Kai Twin disposable from Dollar Tree. This one never fails to provide a close and smooth finished product. Then I applied 444 ASB and Krampert's Frostbite. Chilly!

-- Wednesday--

Prep: hot water wash with bath soap
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow with New Improved head
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (6)
Brush: Semogue BC LE Mistura (#18/100)
Soap: Stirling anise
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers's witch hazel

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. I am amazed at how well the New Improved head works for me now. Silver Blue blade on its 6th shave feels like new and the shave I got is brilliant. I usually toss the blade after 4shaves, but the Big Fellow NI stretches the blade life for me. I will push for shave 7 on this blade in the big Fellow just to see how it goes. I got 7 shaves from a Feather before this blade got loaded.
