TUESDAY A.M.
PRE: QED French Red Clay facial soap
SHAVE SOAP: AoS Tallow, lavender
SHAVE BRUSH: Somerset Simpson Duke 2 best
RAZOR/BLADE: EJ 89 Octagonal with Personna Hospital Prep (2)
POST SHAVE: Thai crystal deo stick as post shave astringent ... Rite Aid version of AV Ice Blue A/S .... Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Post Shave Healer
Nice smooth shave based on some really great lather from the AoS tallow. From what I've read, the EJ 89 is reputed to be a "mild" (vs. "aggressive") razor
so the closeness and comfort of today's 2 1/2-pass effort may be derived from the Hospital blade. Will be interested to see just how many good shaves a
Hospital blade will eventually give me. Meanwhile, enjoying each fine shave as it happens!
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Tuesday:

Gillette Model #58 & LB Wilkinson blade
Plisson #12 HMW
ABCA soft shave soap
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Taylor's Sandalwood

This ABCA stuff is not much on scent but the lather is, indeed, very good. Now that it's a bit older it kind of reminds me of the old AoS unscented shave soap.

Tuesday Night:

Razor: Mergress (lowest setting)
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Light Brigade

Brush: Vulfix 375S
Soap: Art of Shaving, Lemon

Lather made in a bowl, as always.
2 1/2 passes.

Cold water rinse + Valencia Orange Water.

My experience has generally been that if I like a blade in one razor I will like it in all razors. I'm not sure if I am finally experiencing a case of razor-blade incompatibility, but every shave with the Mergress razor and the LB Wilk blade has been very harsh, in contrast to the very smooth results I got with the Personna 74 in the same razor.

Next shave will be with the LB Wilk in an Edwin Jagger razor. After that, I'll try an LB Wilk from a different dispenser.
