-- Friday, May 23--

Prep: hot water wash with bath soap
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow with New Improved head
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: Shop-made Buffalo Horn handle, "The Black Queen", with TGN two band finest
Soap: Palmolive stick mashed into a wooden bowl
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers's witch hazel

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Great shave. The new brush I just finished yesterday is amazingly good. I have never used horn material before. It is really nice. The brush feels like a high quality chess piece. I call it "The Black Queen" for that reason. The lather from Palmolive was perfect using this brush. I like the length of the handle and the fact that it's slender. All the dimensions just feel good in use. the knot is no surprise, a TGN two band finest and it is excellent.
