Prep: hot water wash with bath soap
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow with New Improved head
Blade: Derby (1)
Brush: Semogue Owner's Club 2012 SE Mixed
Soap: Home-made soap by one of our TSN members (thanks, Dave!)
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze (used as brush scuttle)
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers's witch hazel

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Great shave. If I am not using one of my own two band badger brushes, I inevitably resort to SOC SE or BC Mistura. Today was a SOC SE day. Amazing brush! Possibly my favorite non-two band brush ever. The soap was sent to me as a freebie from a fellow TSN member with a BST purchase. Very nice, simple and effective soap. I really enjoy using. Thank you, Dave. Derby blades work very well with the Big Fellow NI. I really did not like them at when I first started DE shaving, but now that I have some experience and dialed in my razor preferences I can enjoy Derby blades for at least 3 shaves and sometimes more. Sharp blades often give me lots of irritation and not a better shave, so I often opt for a milder blade.

Thursday:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
Large Horsehair Barbershop
Super Speed/Sharp day 4
Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS
444 AS Balm
Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash
Aramis EdT

Holy Icicles Batman, my face is so frozen - what am I going to do? Honestly, I enjoyed this shave so much that you guys have no idea. The Glacial Obsidian soap lathered beautifully for me and delivered a menthol effect which can really shake you up if you're not able to tolerate such an intense freeze. The 444 balm once again added to the frigid fun, and the Penguin was a wonderful finale with its own chilliness.
