Prep: Face wash with bath soap and water
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow with New Improved head
Blade: Merkur (4)
Brush: Huge 30mm two band finest brush in exotic red wood burl handle
Soap: Cella
Scuttle: None
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant alum stick and Thayers's witch hazel

Image

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Excellent shave. This brush is amazing. I wish I had larger hands for it. It is really a big brush and the knot is absolutely delightful. Holds a ton of lather and delivers it without hogging. I have not used Cella in some time and it's always good to go back to an old reliable soap that never disappoints.

Moss scuttle
Rooney 3/2 Ebony Finest (24mm/62mm)
Sultans Sandalwood Special Reserve shaving soap (tallow)
Gillette Slim Adjustable
Wilkinson Sword (2) (vintage)
Creed Original Santal aftershave (homemade)

The Sultans soap free sample came in a jar so small that I couldn't load the brush, so I had to spoon out a chunk of it. In the scuttle bowl, it made lather easily enough. On my face the lather was quite thin, with adequate glide but virtually no cushion at all, and it dried during passes. The scent of the soap is a dry rather than sweet sandalwood, very light.

Kent BK4
Tabac soap - the first shave from my new soap in its mystical milk bowl
Z3 Super Speed Flaretip
Fresh Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow blade

Using all the good stuff today. I had forgotten just how good Tabac is. Two flawless passes with enough left over for another. Very consciously let the weight of the razor do the cutting. I usually use a bit of negative pressure. Today's results were excellent, due in no small part to the mystical milk bowl. Or maybe it was the technique.
