Rudy Vey Muehle 25mm synthetic
Cyril Salter Edwardian Barbershop
Edwin Jagger DE89 Barley Chrome
Persona Medical Prep blade day 2
Classic Eau de Aftershave splash
Guerlain Vetiver Eau de Toilette

I need to amend my previous remarks on this soap. It is the equal of anything I have used. Terrific lather that came together quickly and yielded a wonderful shave. And that scent...
Regards,
Tim

RV Mühle 25mm synth
DR Harris Almond soap
Gillette 1955 Red Tip
Personna Med Prep #1
Dr. Galen Tonic splash
TOBS Mr. Taylor splash

Throwback. The Harris Almond & Red Tip combo was a go-to for some time, although the Personna then was a Crystal/IP. I had Mr. Taylor in heavy rotation then, too, and was using a C&E branded brush that was really a Mühle knot and a couple of Simpson Bests. No knot better approximates the old Simpson Best than the current Mühle synthetics, which have good backbone, great flow-through, and a nice combo of feedback and soft tips on the face.

Oh, and great results today.
Regards,
Tim

Saturday AM 2018-06-16

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney WWII Broad Arrow Black Boar (20/46)
Houbigant Fougère Royale shaving soap (vintage)
RazoRock Mamba/Stork Aristocrat 2 Titanium
Personna 74 Tungsten (2)
Houbigant Fougère Royale aftershave (vintage)

This was my first time using a boar brush. I thought it would be stiff and somewhat harsh, but it obviously had been used well and broken in, because the bristles were quite soft on my face. I pre-soaked it in warm water for 5 minutes, after which it loaded the vintage soap slowly but quite heavily. The lather initially was watery, but it thickened up nicely and ended up fluffy and slick. An excellent shave.

Here's my SOTD: 8:39 am splashed warm water on my face and applied a generous amount of brushless cream. Assembled the razor and blade, and began to shave. 8:45 am applied my aftershave. Done. 6 minutes.

Here's my SOTD for Sunday -

Same as yesterday, 7 minutes. I admit that as I was concentrating on the razor and blade sliding across my face, I got absorbed in the moment, and lost track of time. Result: one minute more. Obviously, loading the brush and building the lather on my face makes an enormous difference in the time spent actually shaving. Oh, also the time it takes to properly rinse the brush.
