Never rush a shave
This morning I was a little pressed for time. Not wanting to skip shaving, I brought my Weishi, loaded with a fresh Israeli Blue, into the shower with me.
I used to shave in the shower all the time with my Bic Sensitive disposables. After making the switch to DE I tried a few times to shower-shave and got poor results at best. Chastened, I told myself I wouldn't do that ever again.
Well, I dood it. And even with my pussycat razor, the shave was sub-standard. While all the hair was removed, my face didn't look the same and sure was far from BBS!
Recommendation to all: If you've found what works for you, stay with it! Better no shave at all, says I, than an unsatisfactory shave done in haste!

Addressing the issue of shaving in the shower; I must be part cat because being wet has never been pleasant to me. Of course, a nice hot shower is refreshing and being clean is a necessity, still, I want it to be over with. For that reason, just standing there shaving would be an unpleasant experience for me. I think if I tried a shave in the shower, I'd probably find myself very much wanting to just get it over with so I could dry off. The result would be counter-productive, to say the least. Here's my bottom line - if it came down to a choice between a shave and a shower, I'd always opt for the shave! Ideally, though, I'd take a fast shower, they're all fast for me, and then I'd take a nice leisurely shave afterward. Certainly, I've been known to take the shower and skip the shave, when time's of the essence and common sense dictates.

Hm. I've got lots of time, for sure. And even so, I gave myself a scar on the left cheek yesterday. The best-laid plans, Oscar ...Racso_MS wrote:Time management. Do what you can, when you can. Just prioritize (especially if your work requires you to "smell good" or "look good")

Scars (man that must have hurt) are unacceptable. TAKE YOUR TIME AND PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO TECHNIQUE. SLOWWWWWWWWW DOWN.

Quite true. And I did have to stop once and refresh myself as to technique. Yesterday's scar was from a slip. I had just switched hands and obviously didn't have as good a grip as I should have. It was with a fresh blade, so I didn't feel it at all. I noticed the blood as I was washing up.Racso_MS wrote:My signature block says it all: "It's not a race ..."

Luckily, I am a big, handsome bear of a man. The scar can only enhance my good looks ...
