Robert Duvall using a Straight

Use a straight. You know it makes sense.

Cool.
I watched several times and I'm not sure it's real?

There are times when the blade is nearly perpendicular to the skin. I'd guess it has been breadknifed and is a prop razor.

That's definitely a prop. The "blade" doesn't even have a real straight edge shape - hollow or wedge. And there's no hint of any whiskers coming off in the lather.

Either way look at his cheeks just below and around his sideburns. I would never leave the house half shaven and spotty like that. What an aweful job. thats a DPS(Damn poor Shave) in my book. I shaved better when I was 12.

A celebrity endorsement presented with sincerity as opposed to poking fun can be a good thing. I am wondering what was the occasion for Duvall to do it for the camera. Real or not, it might be viewed by some as encouraging.

The title of the article was "Fourteen Actors Acting". They were acting out brief emotion-laden scenes. (Check them out.) I think he did a good job showing the satisfaction of a man enjoying a "manly" shave. Only us shave geeks would spot the technical flaws. I enjoyed it. Made me feel manly.....until she told me to do the dishes.

And that's what he said to his three ex-wives.

(I think "Hollywood" and "doing the dishes" are mutually exclusive terms.)

That's gotta hurt! The blade is perpendicular to the skin with the majority of it off his face from behind the point to the heel. Look at the point digging into his skin! (Good thing it is fake.) It's still a good video if you like macho actors.

Got a kick watching Nigel Hawthorne use a straight in The Madness of King George.

But after watching a few moments I realized he was already closely shaved and they had merely applied lather and gave him a prop straight razor with which he was just wiping the lather off. I'm pretty sure anyway. :)

Cool video starring my favorite actor. That is obviously a prop razor.
