Peroux Cognet «Le Talisman» Special Pour Barbes Dures

Post by Leon »

This straight razor was made in France by the company "Peroux Cognet".
There isn't much information about this company, but sometimes we see them at eBay. I can't say the age of this blade, but I'm guessing it's from the 50s-60s.
The blade height is a little bit over 6/8'' measuring exactly 20mm, full hollow, but hefty. Polished to a mirror finished. Honed exclusively with Belgian and German natural stones. Shaves like a dream.
I made the handles out of genuine translucent ox horn in "french" shape, that is to say, "a la" TI. Some french looking scales for a french blade seems logic to me

Nice! Some razors just look like good shavers even before you try them out - this is one.

Indeed. I like that scale material, and the style is pure French!

Very nice indeed!...even to one who doesn't personally use a straight. A beautiful piece.
