Giving it a go

Post by Books »

So I've decided to give this straight razor thing a go and see where I end up.

I've picked up a few straights and am going to have a friend hone them for me. I'm working on getting a 'poor mans' strop kit.

Now all I need is some more nerve and lots of patience...

The blood. SOO much blood!

just kidding. enjoy your transition into straight razors, and don't lock them in a drawer at night, as they multiply rapidly.

I would recommend he tape the spine on those razors (pics in your other post) when honing. Those are sufficiently old to warrant a little extra care. Heavier grinds appreciate the extra spine width offered by the tape.
