First Shave with a Big Wedge

Post by Books »

From SOTD:
Monday:

Prep: Hot Shower
Soap: TABAC
Brush: Omega 31064
Razor: Wade & Butcher 6/8 ths Wedge "American Razor"
Toner: Thayers Lemon W.H.
After Shave:Pinaud Clubman
Balm: Nivea Sensitive ASB

First use of a big wedge. Was kinda nervous, this thing is big and heavy. More then I'm used to. Wow is all I can say. It was strange having such a quiet shave. I'm not sure if I like this razor or not, but time will tell.

Wedges are fun to shave with yet offer no real feedback other than a smooth face left behind.

I enjoy shaving with them and have many, but I love shaving with all grinds of razors.

I have a couple of 7/8 Sheffield wedges, I enjoy pulling them out every once in while... especially in the summer. The big hunk of cold steel feels good!

I like the looks of wedges, but have never actually used one. I have a couple, but unfortunately they're going to need a whole bunch of work before they're ready to use. Sigh.
