Which straight razor did you use today?
Re: Which straight razor did you use today?
Oscar, I sent you a PM, but can't be sure whether you received it. Here's my question: Is there an adhesive I can use to glue a knot that isn't as permanent as epoxy? Just in case I glue a knot into a handle then change my mind later on?

Filly
MeiBner Tremonia
homemade brush/25mm Shavemac 2 band silver tip
Strong & Scottish, well it certainly is strong. You get a nice hint of whiskey then a pretty heavy scent of peat (smokey) and that's what your left with. I could see a lot of people think this one's nasty but being a fan of vetiver I kind of like it. Great lather and a very nice shave today. Have a good one.

Been the same for months now, Daily use of Michael Hunter & Son Wedge hand-forged in Sheffield in the early 1800's.
I have had a hankering to pick up another straight lately but I would imagine I will take my time and perhaps locate one sometime in 2016. I am currently thinking of purchasing a Damasko timepiece first.

None. I have my hands full with my new R41.

Today's razor was the Boker King Cutter 15/16.

Re: Which straight razor did you use today?
Here is the razor I used this morning, W&B 8/8, 1/4 hallow, gave a super smooth shave, holding blade angle very low, or almost flat, spine is 1/4 thick.

5/8 Bismarck Razor Works
MeiBner Tremonia/Rhassoul
homemade brush/ Edwin Jagger pure knot
This is the knot that got me interested in pure badger hair. I ordered another Shavemac pure knot earlier in the week in the bulb style. I actually enjoy this little brush. The hairs are coarser but not prickly at all. It's not well packed with hair but I like the feel of the knot on my face. I'd consider the Bismarck razor a working mans type , nothing fancy but well made and a good shaver that takes a good edge. If I can find it I'll use my bone handled Bismarck tomorrow. Have a good one.

6/8+ Crown & Sword
Green Moutain
homemade brush/ Shavemac pure
Nice shave this morning. I have a love hate relationship with this soap. Great shaves, great post shave but I struggle with the lather. I'm going to use it exclusively for a couple of weeks and see how things work out improving my lather. Have a good one.

4/8 J. Rodgers and Sons
Green Mountain
homemade synthetic brush/unknown knot
Without a doubt my best shaving small razor. It would probably be considered a medium grind and has ivory scales. I was fooling around with some synthetic knots when I had my head injury and remain clueless as to what type of knot is in what handle, just can't remember. So I have 3 or 4 brushes I have no idea what in them for knots. Nice shave today. Have a good one.

6/8 DD
Cade
homemade synthetic/knot unknown
I think I remember which knot this is because I tried to give it as much legs (loft) as I could. I find this knot to feel a bit like a very soft tennis ball and this o.k. to a point but IMO, it needs to break and open on the face. It's a little reluctant to give it up but we'll see if a little abuse will take care of it. Very close shave this morning but not the most comfortable. Have a good one.
