Hello,
What is the best way to pack and ship a leather hanging strop so that it doesn't get bent out of shape or damaged?
Best,
Marion

Re: Strop shipping
I have shipped them in the past wrapped in small bubblewrap from head to tail and then fashioned a stiff cardboard surround taping all of the edges in packing tape. This does lead to an oversized package per usps standards but ups will ship it straight away. Make sure to mark Fragile and Do Not Bend on the outside of the stiff cardboard cut to fit and extend about and inch and a half border on all sides of the lengthened strop.
When I received my Kanayama strop from aframestokyo, it was shipped in a box designed it but it wasn't necessarily that stiff either. You also might check with a florist who ships long stems roses. maybe thay would have an actual "box". Otherwise the cardboard encapsulated way I described has served me well in the past.
