"cartridge straight razor" question

Feather Styling Razor
Feather Nape and Body Razor

These are made/sold/intyended for the barber shop market for styling hair in awkward places. they apparently have wire mesh screens on them for extra safety and are designed for the utmost of control.

The styling razor in theory should work just like a kamisora does, just with a mesh screen on it.

The nape and body razor should work like a very narrow straight with a screen on it.

So im wondering why no one talks about them.

The wire windings are there for safety reasons, and prevent the shave being as close as it could be. Some ten years ago I used a Feather AC for a while, and found it took a very careful hand, but gave a close shave. Close enough that after some regular usage my face got a bit sore. whether the wound blades would be a good compromise I can't say, but I know how you could find out....
