It has become very clear to me that I simply have too many brushes and razors, not to mention blades. It's embarrassing.

I am going to have to expand the nightmare by dividing the surplus stuff into catagories: Soap/Cream box; Razor box; Blade box; Brush box; Fragrances box. This will become my first step toward simplicification of the whole hoard. It's sickening . . . .
It just occurred to me that I could either PIF the stuff, or maybe just sell the whole box kind of like we used to see "mystery" boxes. Time will tell. Selling stuff piecemeal is an enormous hassle. I don't even know what I have.

Gary, good on you!

I hope you reach a point where I perceive you want to go and that is to have only what you use and have plenty of it.

For my self, I can't create a box. I have many things I like to use and just use them when the spirit moves me. I've pretty much sold off the things I can't use but still have many I use sparingly. There's a great bit of nostalgia wrapped up in them so they'll outlast me.

I have plenty of the things that that I use daily so I'm happy.

Yes sir, Chris. That's the heart of it. I've found what works best for me (most recently the brush) and am happy sticking to those handful. Meanwhile I'm burdened by the little mound of the hardware stuff that's left over. None of it is considered a profitable investment. I'd call it surplus of no use to me. Soaps and creams that I love to use are by nature going to go away through getting used up. Surplus razors, blades and brushes and other related objects (other than the few I keep for my own use, and as you point out because of nostalgia) should be "catch and release" materials.

Clive, I bought a couple of the Salter cakes as well. I love that scent and want a usable soap with it. I also don't need more stuff in the box, especially since I have a couple of kilos of unsoaped stearic acid and a bucket of tallow in the fridge...I am weak.
Regards,
Tim

This box is the only one that I'm able to list the stuff jammed in there. The boxes for razors, blades, brushes, and related scattered stuff are somewhere in the clouds. I think I may have to incorporate and establish separate divisions for identifying and cataloging all of it similar to the Smithsonian. Then I could hire an army of curators and docents to operate the caverns and catacombs of long buried shave mummies.
