Shaving Mountain

Post by SharpClaw »

I am at the peak of the shaving mountain.
Today,I have gotten my first bbs shave ever.

These are my weapons of choice
Image

Gillette Toggle
Feather razor blade
Omega Syntex
Palmolive Shaving lather
Sliver plated shaving bowl

I used 3 passes, 2 with and 1 against the grain.
The 2 with the grain passes where with the razor set on 3
and last pass against the grain was on 5.

I will repeat this same technique tomorrow.
Happy as a clam.

Sol,

Congrats on the super close shave. Palmolive really is good stuff, unchanged for decades, and for good reason. I think I'll try it tomorrow. Might as well also pull out the Omega syntex brush, which is a dandy little brush. And Nivea is one of my two go-to aftershaves (along with Proraso).

I've never used the Toggle, but Palmolive and Nivea are solid products. They're not better than most though, so you've probably perfected a technique now that can be duplicated with any number of product combinations. You've turned the corner and now the real fun begins.

Well, I see Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I guess you have until the 28th to buy three more razors. :-)

Where's a good place to get a Syntex? Whenever I do a search for it on Google, I can't seem to find it. I bought an Omega green and gold from perfectbeauty.com, but I didn't see the syntex on their site.

Robert,

This place has them. An old thread here said that qedusa also carried them, although they're not listed in the on-line catalog.

Thanks Glenn
Just when I thought I was done with the brush madness, I realized I didn't have one of those either.....
No food in the fridge....gas in the car....or electricity in the house...but MAN I've got some good brushes on the way .....

Ugly Mug shave soap. How inciting is that?

John: Do you use a lot of the brushes you buy, or do you just collect?
