As luck - or technique - would have it, most of my shaves look quite close but are a shade shy of BBS...

My number one shaving tip is in my sig.

Don't make a judgment "good" or "bad" based on price. Some good stuff is cheap, and some expensive stuff is bad. On the flip side, trying to save the last penny on every single aspect of shaving is a mistake. Why? Because some of the expensive stuff is well worth the pleasure it brings to the shave.

This is mine as well. Many guys I know slap the lather on and immediately start shaving. Then they complain about razor burn and how their skin is so sensitive. I tell them if they do nothing else differently, get plenty of water on your face, go slow with the shave cream, giving the beard time to soften up.

In my case, not a few, but just one, many many times. It's part of what they like about us.

I remember when I was about six years old, I was playing with a modelling knife - on the packaging it said "surgical sharpness - careful". I scoffed and ran it across my finger and then learned why you never "experiment" with blades.

Yes use dice to be able to compare a blade used 3 times to another used 3 times, or to find hou how long a blade lastedw

Take ample time to lather your face well, then take some more time, then a bit more.

Honorable mention tip: Don't split a bottle of wine with your wife, then try to shave her legs. Bad, very bad idea.

Go for comfort over closeness of shave
Don't give up (especially for str8s)
Go back to the soap to refresh lather between passes (it still lasts forever)
