Any 'brick & mortar' in Albuquerque N.M.?

Thoughts and input on anything related to wet shaving or men's grooming.

Any 'brick & mortar' in Albuquerque N.M.?

Post by desertbadger »

We'll be travelling there this October to visit my brother-in-law. It will be during the Hot Air Balloon Fest and since he's an avid balloonist I hope to come back with some nice aerial shots.
I was going to stop in Vegas either on my way up or coming back at T&H but they've closed the operation there.
I know that it's probably a long shot, but anyone know of any shaving places in the area?

David

I believe that T&H has only moved their store over to the Mirage, but you may want to check that.
Good shaving,

Yeah, Gary that's what I thought too. I called Brittney at T&H on an unrelated subject and the Vegas store came up in the conversation. She gave me the bad news. She said their former barbers are now working at the Mirage but the store itself closed last April.

About the only place Ive seen is near Carlisle and Lomas, neat little place that actually has Merkur Razors and Tabac, among others.

One more thing... they had a few basic Plissons in there last time I checked.

That's the place the hotel concierge recommended to me for green chile stew. Didn't get by but will next time I'm in the neighborhood.

There's also a clothing store, Robert R. Bailey I believe, that carries pretty much the entire T&H line and some Vulfixes. I seem to recall they're on Louisiana.

I second the recommendation for Model Pharmacy (for the chile stew and the shave goods) 8)

Yes, Model Pharmacy is well worth a visit. They have an excellent lunch counter and are well known for their old fashioned milk shakes.
There is anther place, a tobacco store called Stag Tobaccanist.
It is in a little mall on the SE corner of Juan Tabo and Montgomery.
They sell Merkur razors and accesories. They also have some nice cigars if you like.
If you find yourself over that way, you may want to check out Garcia's resturant on Juan Tabo and Commanche( a few blocks south of Montgomery) Not fancy, but the New Mexican style food is very good there.
Have fun at the balloon fiesta, it's a real hoot.

Thank you, Mike! Yeah, my brother in law has been a ballonist for many years; you could say that he's really "in to it". I've been up with him twice and it's really a lot of fun so I'm looking forward to it.... :D
