Mantic's Money Magazine Article

Post by Gatorade »

Funny thing happened the other day. My wife was looking through a copy on Money magazine that my mother in-law left at the house. My wife says "Look there is an article about shaving with those old razorrs". I glance over and see the Merkur picture. Cool! So while I am waiting for her to finish reading I think to myself, I wonder who or what company the writer spoke to. I ran through a few possibilites in my head. Then while I read the article and saw the Feather blades and the Derby blades mentioned. The next sentence confirmed it. The writer had contacted a very good source! It was Mantic! Good job spreading the word! I was slightly put off that the picture of the razor took up 3/4 of the page and the other 1/4 was devoted to the story. I thought they could have easily spoke more about it and possibly gone with a smaller picture.

Oh well. Just goes to show you what ghosts of SMF past can be dredged up!

I was hoping for something a little longer too but any publicity for the 'hobby' is better than no publicity I guess. :)

BTW I read SMF every day (along with 2 B&B and TSD; there are a few others I lurk on every few days) though I don't post much these days.

Mark, I didn't mean you. I meant me. I haven't been on here in over a year but the mention of you in the article pulled me back. :D

Same here! All we need now is for me make 12 posts a day and it will be like the good old days! (and the dozens of other members that were famous back in the day).

Most are still here, I have seen them here and there. However if Ben were to stop in then it would be a full fledged reunion!

Ravi,
Are you really in a position to question the number of posts a day someone makes? Hmmm?

Not questioning at all, or being critical, or whatever the interpretation... Just reminiscing... That being said, I think we're all free to question all we feel we need to question, no?

You know... it dawned on me this morning that maybe that's what the message was! Thank you, and nice to be amongst you all again!

Ditto Ravi. It's good to see an 'old timer' here still. :D

Thank you again everyone - it's been a bit of a ride the last year or so, but hopefully things have settled down.

Amongst other things my father passed away a few weeks ago of a sudden and massive heart attack - and this might sound strange, but I rediscovered and found a type of quiet solace in my shaving/implementation shortly thereafter (seems even weirder now that I've typed it).

Anyway, I'm glad to be here (in spite of the "old timer" reference!) and look forward to contributing to the discussions in whatever inane way I can!
