Proper razor and brush sighting on TV

Post by function »

Well, it was on TV a few years back, but I am watching the remake series of Battlestar Galactica while working from home today. A shaving scene pops on with Admiral Adama(Edward James Olmos) and he is first seen using a brush, then his razor is a Merkur Vision.

Sadly, like so many shaving scenes, something happens and he cuts himself.

Must have been using a "Feather" blade. :D

Well, if you look closely at that guy...His face is less than ideal to rake a blade across. Love him as an actor.

Agreed. His face more resembles the lunar surface than a baby's bottom.

Which makes his cutting his neck the ironic part.

Apparently, shaving scenes with Admiral Adama occurred with alarming frequency as the following article from 2008 points out...note that mantic59 posted in the comment section.

I'm catching up on Battlestar Galactica just now, and noted the use of a Merkur Vision in S03E04 by Edward James Olmos. If they thought the Vision was the future, why not use the Futur? Oh, well. We'll take what we can get...

And he nicked himself without a blade in it!

OK I made that up, but no doubt there was no blade in the razor. There never is in any shave scene.

Or in the case of a straight razor, probably ground to a nice big, smooth, rounded edge.
