Julie Making a Dirty Bird Scuttle

Post by LookingGlass »

All,

You have to review the video of Julie making a scuttle. Just Google Dirty Bird Pottery and then click the link. Awesome!!!!!

I have a DB 1.5 and just placed an order for a regular (to replace the one I gave to my son). These scuttles are the best of the best. She is a great lady and will work special orders. Wonderful scuttles at a most reasonable price.

I'm going to have to watch it again I think. For two reasons, one, I just love seeing the artist doing what she does best, and secondly, I didn't really get the technical detail of how she joins the two separate parts together into one unit right before she puts them into the kiln. I've always wondered how they do that.

Very much enjoyed seeing that process. I have a Dirty Bird Bill Bowl and enjoy using it - only problem is my larger brushes clank around the edges of it. Problem solved in my Ayars lather bowl!

Thats really incredible! I noticed no edits, so assume it was real time. She had the bowl portion done in under five minutes, and it looked flawless. The whole process is amazing. Thanks for posting...
