Newbie Hello from Canada!

Post by bennay »

Hi all,

Semi new to wet shaving (few months, not even). I look forward to and enjoy shaving much more - it's sort of turned in to an addiction/problem.

Like the post says I'm from Canada. Vancouver specifically. Currently I'm devastated about Hodgson being traded. If you know who that is you know I'm into hockey. I've done a lot of research/asked a lot of questions lately about pricing and getting products to Canada - not as easy up here and being all the way out west doesn't help.

Any ways I look forward to being on the forum!

Welcome!

I am further West and have no problems getting any shaving product thanks to the interweb.

FYI - Vancouver has one of the best markets for shaving gear & colognes in Canada. That's not saying much... but better than being in Moose Jaw.

Cheers,

RR

LOL RazorRamone, love the nickname.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I ordered something from the UK and it arrived much faster than shipments from the US (from USPS specifically). Like a razor from the UK came in exactly one week where as in the states products take over two weeks to arrive. And it was even cheaper ordering from Europe (as long as I kept the price down to avoid duties)... Not sure if it was just a one off or if that's the status quo.

Bennay,

To make things even more confusing, try ordering shipped via Canada Post or UPS. (Never use UPS when bringing items in Canada. Their "brokerage fees" are often as much as the worth of the product.)

For us here in BC, it is usually faster and cheaper to order out of the US West Coast through USPS.

Hi and welcome.
I agree on getting stuff from the US. It takes a couple of weeks while stuff from the UK gets here in about a week.

Welcome, bennay!

I'm not sure this is a good place to hang out if you're looking for help with your addiction.

This place is great, but as a "new" member, I'm already waiting on delivery of brush number 3, and have an armoury of samples to get through.

You have been warned ...

I think that once we get past the experimentation stage it will be less expensive (less land-fill at the very least), but trying all this stuff out is fun ...

... for me and shaving has become a pleasure & a hobby rather than a chore.

Life is far, far too short to fritter away any time doing stuff you dislike (if at all possible).

Welcome aboard.

I am a Flyers fan...but I was really taken by that trade too. Apparently management is buying the theory that the Canucks lack toughness.

Not saying I agree...but that was the theory everyone was throwing around.

Hodgson was a fan favorite. Wonder how this plays with the fans in the seats.
Regards,
Jason

Welcome! And yes, the saving money thing is a bit of a misrepresentation, but I prefer to think of it as shifting funds to a more worthwhile endevor.
