My shaving world up- ended

Post by Rufus »

My shaving world was dealt a severe blow today when the handle of my Moss scuttle detached itself from the body. Horrors, horrors; what shall I do? I've had the scuttle for nearly 5 years and it's become an indispensable part of my daily shave.

The sooner the better. Order now. In addition, you probably should hit the Home Depot and grab either JB Weld or one of the other epoxy products hanging on the hooks. Mix it up, slather it on the broken areas, set the broken parts back in position, and secure it in place until it dries for 24 hours, then you'll have a serviceable backup to use until the new one comes in the mail. It's always a delight to (a) fix something that's broken, and (b) order a spanking new piece of shaving equipment.

Buy two, and get a cheap ceramic cup just for the sure frugal joy of it.

I'm reluctant to do that; my fear is that it will not hold and the scuttle will either smash to pieces on the granite vanity top or fall into the basin and chip it. I'll give Sarah a call on Monday and order a new one. The really sad part of it is that the scuttle was a 60th birthday present from my son.

You could plant something in it and keep it on your shaving counter.

This is exactly why I typically have two brushes, incase the primary one breaks down for some reason, all I do is reach in for the secondary one and keep going and then order a new secondary so there is no break in service what so ever.
