Greetings!

Post by Fishin Phil »

Hello Gents,

Another new guy wandering in. I have been lurking about this week, soaking up your knowledge. My wonderful wife gifted me a nice shave set and I am taking my first steps into the world of traditional shaving. I'll post the particulars of what she gave me this evening, I can't remember everything off the top of my head.

Thank you to drmoss_ca for helping me get registered. A big thank you to mantic for his videos, they have been very helpful!

I know I have much work to do on my technique, but I have already started to look forward to my shave every day.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome Phil!

It takes most people three weeks to get the hang of it, so just have a little patience, and a month from now it will seem easy.

GA Russell, I know that handle from previous boards. Either JRBB or perhaps Cigar Weekly. Anyway, nice to see a familiar name.

Welcome to the forum.

The most difficult aspect to learn is "NO Pressure", but when someone learns that "no pressure" actually means no pressure it all falls into place.

We're here if you need us. We've made all of the mistakes, so there's no reason to reinvent the wheel on your own. Feel free to ask, even if you think it's dumb. We all came to this knowing little to nothing.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Here are the goodies I received at Christmas: Merkur 180, Parker Pure Badger Brush, TOBS Sandalwood cream, and some Feather blades.

Just received my first order from Bullgoose (that was fast!):
MWF, D.R. Harris Windsor soap, and a large blade sampler. I informed my wife that she has created a monster!
