Post by Craig_From_Cincy »

Hello Gents,

I haven't been around SMF for some time and wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing, and see what's up in the shave world.

Cheers,

Craig

Thanks Murray! I was watching Skyfall this evening and the shaving scene brought me back to SMF. I hope that you're well and having great shaves.

Welcome back.

Things are pretty much the same. Enjoying a two-pass plus touch-up DFS on a daily basis. :D

I've been staying busy, working a couple of jobs as I haven't been able to find one decent one, and, thankfully, still getting good shaves.

I've been going to Chicago at least once a year for work, and I've been stocking up on creams and soaps at the Truefitt store while there. I've been shaving with soaps on workdays (I find they make for a faster shave than creams) including Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet , AOS Sandalwood, and Trumper's Rose. On the weekends its always creams for me, and I'm all over the road with the English classics, Forbes, RazoRock, and a few odd creams that I keep around for super lathering with some not so great soaps (Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge, 2010 vintage Penhaligon's English Fern)

I stockpiled Gillette 7 O'Clock 'Russian Black' blades in early 2012, and I'm just about out. They've been solid performers but now I need to decided what to buy next.

Same colognes & aftershaves, just doling them out judiciously due to the price of the scents that I prefer (Knize Ten for one, Royal English Leather for another). The good stuff never is inexpensive though, is it?
Cheers,

Craig

Nice to see you checking in, Craig.
I like the variety of products that you have and that
you actually use them!

If I were you, I'd try to bump up the number of Chicago trips ;)
