I hope you're right - it's nice to have a place to order from without duty and customs difficulties over alcohol-containing aftershave etc.

The brush handle is much lighter in colour than the photo shows. More "amber", as it were. See http://forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic. ... 32#p698832 for a better photo.

The tube of Proraso Red Is much bigger than I expected. \:D/

Christmas came early this year!

Image

A vintage bottle of Guerlain Heritage EDT, an old shampoo bottle from Trumper, a vintage Floris Elite shaving soap and I finally got my hands on a cake of English Fern shaving soap in the tallow formulation. I'm also waiting for these two to arrive:

My purchase of that old shampoo bottle from Trumper may, perhaps, seem somewhat silly to some but the collector side of me urged me to buy it. I was initially planning on cleaning the bottle, refilling it with some modern Coco-Nut Oil shampoo from Trumper and then actually use it for it's intended purpose but I'm afraid I'll damage the bottle and it's label by doing so; I might just end up using it for decoration instead.

I bought yet another empty perfume/hair lotion bottle and yes, I know, it's getting quite silly. ;)
The bottle apparently contained Truefitt's Athenian water (as to be seen on the text at the bottom of the bottle), a hairdressing that they still sale to this day by the way. I contacted T&H and asked them if they knew how old the bottle could be and they emailed me back and told me that it might date back to 1935, the year when H.P Trufitt merged with Hill & Co and became Truefitt & Hill – but to be totally honest – I have my doubts about it being quite that old.

Anyhow, they told me that if I ever got tired of it and want to get rid of it that they would happily accept it from me and put it on display at their flagship store in London. A quite flattering offer to be honest.

My new soap-scooper knife, aka a "snurdler".

Looks suspiciously like a cheese spreader, I know.

UPS Tracking said it was delivered, but it said it was delivered to Miramichi, which is 170 km to the north.
I got on their 1-800 support line, and it seemed that the driver was not the regular one. He delivered it somewhere, but incorrectly entered Miramichi in the destination.
It showed up in a few hours, just after supper. \:D/

It took me a while to place the order because two of the items were out of stock.

My recent haul:
Image

For some bizarre reason, I've recently gotten more and more interested in the collecting of rare empty fragrance/hairdressing bottles (mostly from the British firms, like Penhaligon and Trumper), like, for example, this quite rare old Trumper San Remo Hairdressing bottle in glass, sporting the older type crown stopper. I had one or two too many drinks the other night and got the dumb idea to try and clean the inside of the bottle with water but clumsy as I am, the water spilt over and came in contact with the label and unfortunately caused some damage.

I managed to score 3 vintage refill cakes of Trumper almond shaving soaps. These seem to be pretty old, older than my other tallow-soaps from Trumper because I've never seen these types of package style before, my guess is that they're from the 80s.

I bought two old products brochures from Trumper and Harris and I'm waiting for them to be delivered. The Trumper one is from 1993 and the Harris seems to be that old too, when I get them I'm gonna try to upload them here (my dad has a scanner I can use next time I visit him).

If you have an Android phone you can install Genius Scan (I have the upgraded version for $5 and it's worth it) and scan your stuff into PDFs. Cheaper and more convenient than buying/using a physical scanner. I seem to use my phone for everything except communication.
