Greetings from DEF

Post by DEF »

Hello, everyone! I've been away forever, but it's good to see the old stalwarts still in action. I just now placed an order with Phil at BullGoose for TOBS Shaving Shop Cream and Cologne -- my first shaving related purchase in a long while. My acquisition disorders progressed to fountain pens and ink and, most recently, to guitars and amplifiers. So splurging on a cake of soap doesn't seem so extravagant in comparison.

I've drifted back into the multiblade razor and canned foam routine, but I'll endeavor to break out the old kit and get back to proper grooming. Lord knows there's still a large inventory at my disposal.

Best regards,
Doug (DEF)

Thanks very much! No Barbasol; tomorrow's shave will be a Merkur 1904 with Gillette 7 o'Clock Yellow, my Rooney Finest, and Trumper Almond soap.

EDIT: Hey, Squire, if you'll PM me your mailing address, I'll return that SMN Sandalwood that you so kindly gave me way back when. It's good stuff, but I never really took to it and will be happy to ship you back just a few shakes less that what you had sent me. I tried it again not that long ago, and it's still got its legs.

Just wanted to express my agreement with the sentiments others have expressed, Doug. Hope to see you around here more. Enjoy the shave tomorrow: that's a first-class kit indeed.

Tim

Hi Doug! Every so often someone will dig up one of your earlier posts and respond in some fashion. Your cache of experience and knowledge is invaluable around these parts. Good to see you back!

Hi Doug! It's great to see you back around the old haunts. And it's good to hear you are trying to kick the cartridge habit.
A Rooney Finest and a Merkur are good cures.
Best,
Chris
