Can anyone explain the implications of this news for the Personna Hospital Use blades? Is it time for a 1000 blade stockpile?

If they can't find a buyer then the Med Preps will no longer be made. If you like that blade, then yes, if you want to keep using them you'll need to think ahead. How many do you need? It al depends on your present age I would think. If you shave every day and get 7 shaves per blade 1000 blades will last 19 years.

The same thing will happen to the GEM SS ptfe SE blades since they are made in the same plant. I had enough of these in all likelihood, but I ordered another 400 just to make sure I have enough. For me, shaving every day and getting conservatively 20 shaves per blade, those 400 blades add almost 22 years of great shaving to what I already have in the supplies.

I should live so long as to outlast my supply.

Same here Squire. I had blades enough for something like 40 years shaving once a day. But I get such a close shave today that I only need to shave every other day. I figure if I live to something like 200 years old I might be looking for blades. But I do like variety in my shaves.

  Maybe when the shavepocalypse arrives we'll have heirs lined up and fighting for our "blade fortunes".

The only Persona DE blades I have ever purchased were the blue box variety available at any Walmart. I was not impressed with them. I do have a couple carts of the old Personna Tungsten 74 injectors but they quit making those a long time ago.

I, too, have several times the needed blades to last through my lifetime. Even so, I'm sad to see Personna go under.

This, of course, is the very reason I have hoarded so many favored blades.

.....If these blades had the black arrows on them they were the "barbers blade" ,Personnas worst. The blades in the other blue box "Comfort Coated" are fine blades ,although they are usually packed in a blue box depicting the arrow blades.

I think the nature of "gourmet shaving" is that we often say, "Sic transit gloria mundi."

I noticed the word 'may' and it is a qualifier but the whole still looks like a plan that's gonna happen.

Good thought, but if the customers aren't buying what the workers are making, then it's a bad deal all around.

Did you specify why you were asking the question? That is, did you refer to the possible closing of the plant? It sounds as though she only addressed the part of the article where it mentioned that the various production entities were separating.
