the men who built the coliseum and conguered the known world, shaved every morning with nothing more then the period equivalent of a 4 inch long piece of steel strapping with an edge on one side.
Alexander shaved, and conquered most of the known world as well.
Eqyptians shaved/plucked everything, and the structures they built still exist, and still cant be built by modern machines. STARGATE.
The only "legacy" of the cartridge razor age is Chernobyl and radioactive waste.

Alexander also required his troops shave but that was so enemy soldiers couldn't grab them by the beard.
