shaving experts please!/shaving in the shower

Post by donaldbathe »

ive used system and disposable multi blade disposable razors from all
brands while in the shower and ive had excellent results!!!!! i mean
excellent results that i LOVE!!! taking a long shower helps my facial
hair soften like easily 80% if not more!!! when i shave against the
grain its just smoooooooth!!!! no irritation whatsoever even when
atg. just lovin it!!!! now heres the problem. i may not always get
the chance to shave while in the shower. i was talking to a friend of
mine who knows this guy who considers himself a shaving expert and
this is what he told him regarding shaving while in the shower and
shaving a couple of minutes after taking a shower at the sink. WHEN
YOU SHAVE WHILE IN THE SHOWER ASSUMING ITS A GOOD LONG SHOWER IS THAT
YOUR FACIAL HAIR IS SATURATED WITH WATER TO THE POINT WHERE ITS MOIST
BY ITSELF AND THATS WHY IT FEELS SO GOOD! IF YOU WAIT A COUPLE OF
MINUTES AFTER SHOWERING AND DO IT AT THE SINK ITS NO LONGER THAT MOIST
YOUR FACIAL HAIR OF COURSE! YOUVE LOST THAT MOISTURE IN YOUR FACIAL
HAIR AT THAT POINT! since he told my friend that, if i wait like
10-15 minutes after taking a long shower and decide to shower at the
sink, how can i make my facial hair that moist like in the shower if
it that point its no longer 80%+ moist/saturated with water? how can
i replicate this assuming it could be done???? can it be done at all
or not???? what products could help me replicate this? proraso????
gillette??? aloe vera??? replicate it exactly like im still in the
shower saturated with water and that moist?? can anyone or someone
please tell me this???? rsvp. thank you.

Well, I'd be the last person to call myself an expert, but here goes anyway...

Face lather for at least 3 minutes. Or you could shave much sooner after the shower.

Welcome to SMF, donaldbathe!

Your beard probably isn't completely dried out when you shave at the sink after your shower. I would splash your beard at the sink until you get it soaked again, then shave. Letting the lather sit on your beard a bit after lathering will also soften the beard.

I don't know what your shaving technique is in the shower, so I can't recommend anything equivalent at the sink. When I shaved in the shower, I wielded a twin-blade cartridge razor and I used the shampoo in my hair and beard for "lather" on my neck. When I shave at the sink, I wash and soak my beard first, then I make lather from shaving soap with a brush or I use Oliveology Shave Gel.

I don't shave in the shower. I've found it to be waaaay too complicated and takes a lot longer while standing there with the water cascading down while I'm trying to take my time and enjoying the shave. Before I shave at the sink, I splash hot water on my face and/or hold a soaking wet washcloth on my beard area before I apply the shaving lather. This works for me. Of course the only expertise I can claim is that I am the world's greatest (and only) expert at shaving MY whiskers every day. I'm not an expert on anybody else's whiskers. :D (I really don't care what other guys do!)

Please, one question mark or one exclamation mark at a time. And no repeated vowels for emphasis. I'm serious.
