I had my first shave with a Coates cream today, the Tea Tree scent. A small amount (less than an inch from the tube) lathered quickly and volumously for me, though a bit on the airy side (I may have had too much water in the brush). The Tea Tree scent is fairly pronounced; if you like Tea Tree, you'll like this cream (for those who don't know, Tea Tree is often used for skin problems). My shave went very well indeed. In fact it was notably comfortable.
Bottom line: an excellent product. I like the scent and it shaves as well as the other high-end British creams. The addition of the Tea Tree oil gave me the feeling that my face was protected even before my after shave routine (rinse, witch hazel, rinse again, Trumper Limes Skin Food).
