Melting the soaps

Post by Johnnie »

Hey Guys,

I was wondering what is the best way to melt the soap. I'd imagine using the microwave, or maybe putting it on the stove. What methods do you guy use?

I put the soap in a microwave safe mug and nuke it for about 15 seconds. Then I check it and see if it needs to be melted further. If so I nuke it again for another 15 seconds and that usually does it for even a 5oz bar of glycerine based soap.

Then I'll stir it for a few seconds with a spoon and let it cool. After about 20 min it should be pretty solid but I usually wait until the next day before I use it. Great way overall for getting a perfect mug fit.

I find the Col Conk soap to be the easiest to melt due to is high glycerine content.
