Taylor's Lather and Brushless shaving gels

About the lather shaving gel, how does it work? Do you use a brush? How does it lather compared to their magnificent creams?

All shaving creams bearing the descriptive word "lather" are designed to be applied with a shaving brush.

All shaving creams bearing the descriptive word "bruhsless" are designed to be applied by hand. That is, they do not lather so there is not sense using a brush.
