Reveal your soap and cream stash

Post by reggiano » Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:24 pm

Ok, it's a little slow at work, and I was thinking about what I have squirreled around the house.

Coate's

2.5 Rose
2.5 Tea Tree
2 Sandalwood + 3 Tubes
1 Lavender
1 Almond
.5 Lime

Trumper's

Almost empty Sandalwood Cream
2 Rose Soaps
1 Violet Soap

Truefitt & Hill

1 Luxury Soap
3 Rose Cream
2 Sandalwood Cream

Yardley

4 Vintage Soaps
1 Black Label Soap

Floris

1 No. 89 Soap

Pre de Provence

1 Soap

Castle Forbes

1 Lavender

DR Harris

1 Marlborough Soap
1 Marlborough Cream

It's not Dr. Moss's Emporium of Shaving Potions and Elixers, but it's a start.

Instead of making a list twice, just take a look at my medicine cabinet.

List is still not complete net. I keep getting stuff and forgetting to update it.

OMG

Sure i've aquired a few different ones but... how does one have the time to go through them all and say... "this was money well spent" or "i regret buying this, it smells like batdroppings".

Man, those are the top two on my list to acquire/try out.

If you ever get around to selling them, don't forget about me.

Reg, This question has been asked at least twice before, that I remember, and I've always refused. And I still refuse. As Rolls Royce used to say regarding the horse power of their autos; "it is more then adequate". But ( thankfully ) it is less then it used to be, as my house is not that large ( chuckle ).

The Pyrex bowls contain Trumper Lime, Rose & Violet, Harris Arlington, T&H Luxury (also in the pewter bowl), Mitchell's Wool Fat, Penhaligon's Blenheim, and Taylor Sandalwood. The plain white tub beneath the C&E Sienna soap contains Rivivage. The tub behind the pewter bowl, with the white lid, contains a melt-up of QED Lime, QED Bergamot, and Em's Outdoors -- a pretty darn good recipe. The C&E tube touching caps with the Proraso is Sweet Almond. The white tubs to the upper right are Tryphon soaps.

Doug

PS: And no, that's not cannabis growing in the background. I have no idea what it is, other than the "Emma plant," bought in the hospital gift shop when our daughter was born eight years ago.

Unlike Gordon, I like questions like this. Not because I intend to answer, but because I can show my wife how relatively parsimonious I am. Actually, because of all the discussion about reformulation, I have more creams than usual. I usually try to limit it to just a few.

But what everybody wants to know: Dr. M...What is your count?
