Ode to Tabac

Post by desmoface »

Hey gang, I was whipping up some Tabac for today's shave and couldn't help but think how great this stuff is. The urge took hold and my wife thought I was insane; standing in my boxers taking pictures of my brush & mug loaded with the creamy goodness that is Tabac. But, I couldn't help myself.

There's Laurel & Hardy, Morrissey & Marr, Lennon & McCartney, and then there's my favorite shaving duo; Rooney Heritage Stubby 2 and Tabac soap (I appologize for the quality of these pics, they were taken post haste)

Ahhh, Tabac. Such a fine easy lather. Nice and moisturizing. It's definitely on my short list of favorite soaps.

My only regret is that I have but one face to shave hehe. My wife just came in while I was reading your responses. I made her look, to prove that I wasn't the only one afflicted with this illness that is wet shaving

Yes, Tabac is truly an outstanding. Amazing lather. Incredibly protective. Wonderfully skin-friendly. I rate it as one of the two best soaps (along with Harris).

Tabac is a great soap. What I also appreciate is the way it is packaged.

Good point. For me (excluding for travel purposes), Tabac's bowl is the best of any I have used. Though it may not look as attractive as Mitchell's ceramic bowl or Harris's wooden bowl, it works better than either one, and is better built for the purpose.

That and the fact the soap is tallow. How more manly can you get? Oh, right, the scent!

I recently bought a Tabac shave stick. My current soap (Proraso green tub) is almost finished and I'm looking forward to trying the Tabac. The scent is pleasant, nice old-school manly, I only hope that it won't linger after the shave because I don't want it to interfere with my cologne.

It doesn't linger on me but I wash it off pretty good. In fact, now that I have had my soap out for a while, the scent is very strong at all anymore. Still great soap though.

Awesome stuff, scent is a little funky but you get used to it.
