Trumper's VS AOS
Trumper's VS AOS
Today I got the 7oz tub of Trumper's Coconut Cream (along with a C&E super badger, black-handed, very sleek).
Going to AOS afterward, I noticed their creams contain basically the same ingredients. The Unscented, which was 20 dollars cheaper than the Trumper's, I believe is exactly the same, mnus frag.
So does that mean theyre the same products overlooking scent, or is Trumper's superior? which I hope.

The AOS creams are ok, not in the same league as Trumpers. The ingredients may list as the same but proportions used in the mix are different. Trumpers Violet is my favorite cream, I just love the scent and the cushion and the glide and the everything about it.

That's what I suspected, and I really dislike everything about AOS, don't want to support them.
7oz tub of Trumper's was 37; I thought it was 45ish, which is why I said is was 20 more than the 25ish AOS, which I'm glad I didn't buy.
The Trumper's scents I tried - GFT and Sandalwood - were both knockouts too, should have gotten samples.

That is still high. QED sells tubs of Trumpers for $25. That's about the cheapest price going.Boyextraordinare wrote:7oz tub of Trumper's was 37; I thought it was 45ish, which is why I said is was 20 more than the 25ish AOS, which I'm glad I didn't buy.

Point taken. But I'd never touched the product before and that accounts for something; further, no shipping cost; further, I didn't pay - it was a gift.
I can't wait till I get a sense for what products I want to have in my collection, so I can mail-order as needed, saving money and energy.
I'm getting there, Dan

Kaveh,
Yes I believe you made the right choice concerning creams, the Trumpers is better than AOS. Now if it were soaps you would have a tougher choice on your hands as AOS makes some fine soap. I personally still like the Trumpers because of the majestic Trumpers rose soap, IMO the finest that they make. AOS makes a nice smelling rose cream marketed towards ladies but I have used it anyways. I think if they made that rose cream into a hard soap they would sell tons of it...me thinks.

Out of curiousity, how would you describe the appearance of the Trmper's cream?
Anyway, I've tons of the AOS unscented samples to try.
Haven't shaved today on account of a BBS shave yesterday or the day before, 3 or 4 passes, w/ Astra olives.
I've no doubt in Trumper's.
AOS I don't like on principle alone, and like everyone's said, in the way of cream products, GFT is superior.
If it's worth it the price diff., I'll check out Taylor's line.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. Is it firm- kind of like margarine in a tub- or is it looser, with little peaks? I am sure it's not runny.Boyextraordinare wrote:White cream.Thalay Sagar wrote:Kavah,

And Taylor's is one of the best performing creams out there, regardless of the price (preference for scent being individual). It's a happy coincidence that it's a bargain.
Best,
Chris

Taylor's is cheaper than Trumper's and probably just as good a shave. Some like the scents, some don't.Boyextraordinare wrote:White cream.Thalay Sagar wrote:Kavah,

AOS and Trumper creams are both excellent - AOS is better than it gets credit for IMHO. But I prefer the Trumpers creams slightly. I prefer the AOS soaps to the the Trumpers significantly on performance, though the Trumper scents are much better on the soaps.
Now Nancy Boy cream is another matter......awessssssooooooommmmeeeeeee.

Taylor's is a bargain - a very nice cream for the price, but I can't say I agree with you that it's as good as Trumper's.goose wrote:Taylor's is the best bargain in wet shaving. $13/tub and it shaves as well as Trumper's or any other cream out there.

I put Trumper's and Harris at the pinnacle, with T&H one notch below (despite being similarly priced as the aforementioned). Taylor's is a notch below T&H, but being much less expensive could easily win the "best value shaving cream" title in my opinion.

Thanks for the tip - that's a great site! Just bought some Trumper's Sandalwood to replace my vanishing Caswell Massey.
I feel like I just traded in my 12 year old Coralla for a new Lexus...(a quick look at my recent posts will reveal that I cannot stop dumping on CW creams...)
