Lemon shaving creams --- Which one?
Lemon shaving creams --- Which one?
Shaving creams: I've already tried AOS Lemon, I like it, and will buy it. I've already got Razorock Caprician Lemon, and love it. So both of these are already golden.
What I'm asking you guys for is some other recommendations (pro or con) and am hoping for some discussion of TOBS Lemon & Lime and Palmolive Lemon specifically.
I'm not interested in Limes for the time being. Fraser's has me totally satisfied regarding Lime.

Taylor is a better performer IMO. Palmolive Lemon has a better scent. The Taylor scent to me is overtly synthetic, a little odd, and neither lemon nor lime but generically citrus/tangy. Palmolive Lemon's performance is good, but not great. It is fairly nicely priced, though, and its scent, while not a natural EO scent, is straightforward and very bright.

Tim

Personally I find the performance of TOBS to be significantly better than the Palmolive cream, so based on just the lather I would go with TOBS. And if you like the scent of Lemon Pledge, then you have a winner. But as Tim noted I don't care for the overly synthetic notes in TOBS. I was going to recommend Frasers as to my nose it is more lemony than limey, but since since you smell it as a lime, then.... Fitjar Citrus Kick, if it is available on this side of the pond. I've never smelled it, but the performance should be exceptional and Jorunn is good with the scents.
Best,
Chris

Chris, most likely the lemon component in the Fraser's is why I like it so well.
Also, I just remembered how much I used to enjoy the lemon version of Connaught's house brand of creams.

Gary, Pretty much a ditto of the above. The last pot of Taylors Lemon/Lime that I had was an excellent performer and since I finished off the entire pot, the scent couldn't have been too bad ( chuckle ). It is, however, a more generic, somewhat synthetic 'citrus' sort of fragrance. The Palmolive is an okay cream but personally I wouldn't seek it out.

Bruce, you are correct. It's the Caprician Lemon. I have a nice big tub of that one, and I really enjoy using it. I find it to be every bit as good in performance as Cella but with an entirely different and wonderful lemony fragrance.

i had a tub of TOBS LemonLime and it was wonderfull. but once it was gone, i explored new scents, but am sure i'll come back to it again. but from what i remember it was more LIMEY, then LEMONEY.
the RR is about the most lemon one i've smelled (i also have key lime KMF, but that is straight lime scented).
come to think of it, there aren't too many lemon scented creams out there in the main lines.

Gingers Garden makes a glycerin soap, but it sounds like you want a cream.
etsy, might have some...here is one with lemon: http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?sea ... ship_to=US
i thought Malaspina had one, but it's not straight lemon: Energy - is a stimulating blend of citrus, including grapefruit, lemon and lime, with hints of fresh cucumber and jasmine, and a touch of pineapple, blackberry and champagne.

Guys, I think I'm slipping! I probably should buy 'em both! Don't you agree?
Edit: Nah! I don't think I want to, not just yet.

Bruce, thanks for this link. Some of these whipped products look good enough to eat.brucered wrote:Gingers Garden makes a glycerin soap, but it sounds like you want a cream.

I would have to agree...I just cannot embrace the scent of the Taylor lemon-lime.Squire wrote:I would choose Palmolive based on scent. The Taylor is lemon-lime without actually being either. Works fine, I just would prefer it be scented one way or the other.
