Gents-- I recently tried some samples of Taylor shaving creams (Shaving Shop and Avacado). I had a very difficult time getting the right conistancy--it was either too foamy/airly (too much water) or dried quickly (not enough water). The other high-end creams I've tried (Trumper and particularly Truefitt & Hill) seems to be much more forgiving. Has anyone else had this problem?

Taylors "Finicky" with Water?
I experienced the quick drying effect with Taylor's St. James. I've always had good luck though with Shaving Shop and Avocado.
With the pot of St. Jame's it seems that initially I put enough water but if I let the cream sit on my face a little to long it makes an almost flaky layer on my skin. I will then have to put a dab of water with my hand to re-moisturize the cream.
Perhaps it just depends on the formulation of a particular batch.
