I'm not big on packaging myself and have no use (literally) for a container that I can't find a purpose for when empty.

I'm with you, Squire, however Penhaligons has done a splendid job with their new Sartorial soap. The bowl is of beautifully grained mahogany and is finished quite well. It does lend the soap (a fine performer) a certain gravitas.

Once again, the new Valobra Cologne hard shave soap.
If it weren't so darned good it would be boring, I know.
Enjoying wet shaving, again.

Jason, yes, this soap is excellent. It's the recipe created by Chris M.

Body Shop Maca Root cream. Just as good as any of the high-end creams.

This morning I used vintage Penhaligon's Castile shaving cream, one of my top favorites along with the vintage Lords cream.

Jaguar, I love the new Valobra soap's performance, but can imagine some users will not love
the fragrance, or the intensity thereof; the Cologne variant is not offensive for sure, but light.
The Fougere version sold out quickly. How do you rate its performance? Scent?
Like to hear some opinions before springing for a puck.
Thanks,

John I know you've used quite a bit of stuff, what is it about the vintage Penhaligon creams you admire, I was thinking the scents.

Yes, although they have great lathering and skin care properties, it's really the scents I appreciate the most. They seem to me to be more complex and lingering than those of modern Pen's creams - and my wife likes them better too.

This soap is such a great performer ... probably the leader in the budget soap stick category.

This morning, it was DR Harris Lavender -- one of my top 5 scents of all-time, and my second favourite soap only behind The Fat. :D
