Tom, don't be intimidated by this soap. Use it just as you would any other. Enjoy your MWF!

Tom,

You are one lucky guy. To have a wife who loves you so much that she would buy you some MWF shave soap for Christmas. I am sure that you will be more than satisfied with the FAT. Now all I need to do is to find a container to grate my nearly used up puck of The FAT into so I can have The FAT as my travel soap. Good luck and do take the very thoughtful wife out for a nice dinner sometime soon as a show of appreciation. Never hurts cause The FAT won't last forever, just ask Wendell.

Now I know why it has such a following! Just finished my shave, and boy is my face soft and smooth. I did watch the Mantic video for tips. It lathered up dense and creamy with little effort. And yes, my wife does enable me in my various SCAD and other disorders. She's a keeper :).

Your first experience with the fat sounds much the same as mine. Just fantastic stuff. My first experience with it left me wondering why all the controversy with it. I still don't understand it.

Maybe others don't load long enough? Maybe they never played with soap as a child to understand the relationship of amount of soap and lather? Nope. I just don't understand. The fat is really good; a definite keeper.

Maybe water hardness is a factor? But England has hard water (generally) and surely it was developed to lather there.

Anyway, good for you! It's a great soap.

Those who have a problem with the Fat rubbed it the wrong way.

Soaps will come and go, but the FAT will always be in my den. It is the only soap I keep spare pucks of.

Just yesterday I was experiencing a craving for the scent of MWF. It is unique, and apparently, habit-forming.

Just received my first ever puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap! First order of business was to find a bowl to put it in; opted for an emptied TOBS rose cream tub. Didn't want to grate it into a bowl, at least not yet. The smell really is fantastic; wife thinks so, too. Really looking forward to trying it tomorrow to finally see what Wendell always raves about!

I just decided that craving I experienced was for my home made MdC clone soap, the one I call First Cedarwood. Don't get me wrong, I like the scent of MWF, but not that much.
