my 'superlather'...

Everyone knows the story of super lathers... that wonderous concoction of two or more shave creams added together, with the result often more pleasing than the two separately. Here's mine... I travel quite a bit, but usually just one or two overnights at a time. So I can go with a small portion of shave cream, and leave the tub or tube at home. I have a couple of the little sample size small, plastic containers, about the size of half dollar. So what I started doing, was everytime I was to travel, I'd top off the sample jar with whatever I have on hand at that moment. But there is always leftover cream in there when I do. Take a little stick or stirrer and whirl them all together. Each time, I add a different cream. But each time, over a base of what was in there before. So at this point, its a really cool, funky, super luxious combination of hmmm.... LaToja, Cella, some Razo-Rock, AOS, TOBS, and who knows what else! Surprisingly, the scent is still really nice (like a surprise to my scenses each time :). Performance remains top shelf. Makes for fun travel, and just the right amount to take with me. Keep in dopp kit, refresh when needed. :).

Interesting. Super lather has never really interested me, much less when I am travelling. I keep it simple when on the road for work. Soap sticks almost exclusively. DRHarris, Palmolive Classic, and Tabac (only on the winter, mind) tend to be the traveling companions for me.

Super lather is just another thing for we shave geeks to muck about with.

you gents are becoming - unfortunately -far and few between.

On the subject of excellent lathers, super or otherwise, the coates creams (rose specifically for me) are out of this world. I wish i hadn't waited until now to give them a try

Yea! Love Coate's Cream. I have 2 tubes each of Lime, Sandlewood and Tea Tree. This stuff makes some really fantastic creamy rich lather with very little work. Reacts very well in a warmed up scuttle. I haven't tried mixing it with anything yet, I guess its because it works so well by itself. Going to get some more if I can find it to save for the future.

Wow, Coate's cream brings back memories. I still have a few tubs that are packed away somewhere. They're more than a decade old but still moist and ready to go last time I checked them. May have to drag out a tub one of these days and experience some nostalgia.

Thanks for the link! Guess it wouldn't hurt to get some and put it up for later.
