Fine Accoutrements Shave Soap

Post by BPman »

I recently bought a puck of their new Italian Citrus soap and am happy to report it's some of the finest I've used. It's made in the Netherlands by the same maker of Tabac soap and other than scent I can tell no difference between the two.

Considering that the back of the Tabac Original shaving soap refill says "Made in Germany", I find above statement hard to believe.

What evidence can you provide that would support your statement?

If it's on the Internet then it must be true. Right?
(Even if Sharpologist links Tabac to "his fair share of artisanal soaps", when in reality the Mäurer & Wirtz company is an independent subsidiary of laundry detergent manufacturer DALLI that in 2012 had a turnover in excess of $735 million. Definitely one of the bigger "artisanal manufacturers", I'd say; probably only surpassed by fellow artisanal manufacturers Gillette, Haslinger and Mitchell's Wool Fat. )

The only problem with your link: Nowhere does it state that Tabac is made in the Netherlands by the same factory that makes Fine Accoutrements shave soap.
Which is precisely the claim that you made - and that I question.

Just to clarify, The maker of Fine has stated that he reverse engineered the Tabac formula to create his soaps.
Most users of fine soaps have agreed with this and basically call it Tabac with better scents.

I have 6 Fine soaps on the way and am looking forward to them very much!
(Fresh vetiver, santal, Italian citrus, l'orange noir, platinum and lavender).
