Floid (Italian style)

Post by The Truthinator »

Buongiorno a tutti,

I am contemplating buying this after shave, since I very much like the scent of it, but wanted to ask you beforehand, if anyone has had some experience with it and could tell me a)how it feels on your skin after application and b)how long the scent lingers on one's face.

Thanks in advance

I have not tried Floid, but I understand it has a high alcohol content (50%.) It is alo heavily mentholated, so expect a good, cool burn. If you are of the mind that alcohol-based aftershaves are the equivalent of liquid-death for skin, don't bother. If you have a more realistic view, and appreciate that sweet mentholated burn, I'm sure you'll like it. I'm told it is very similar to Lustray Menthol a/s. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much,

I don't mind a burning sensation at all, as long as it is a short sensation and fades quickly.
Can anyone say something about the lifetime of the scent?

I have the Italian Floid and while the menthol hits you right up front....which I like,
on the dry down it fades.
The overall scent, however, lasts several hours.
I use no other fragrance when using the Floid AS.
It has great staying power. 8)

Thanks Rick, I'm going to buy a bottle of Floid tomorrow when I'm in town.

It seems, that you really cherish this after shave. Is Floid your mainstay when it comes to AS?

What town is this? Floid is one of the more difficult aftershaves to come by. Thanks.

And I thought I made myself clear...just take a look at the location I have stated.

But seriously, I live in Duesseldorf, which is a city in the western region of Germany. Just a short hop from your place over that little pond between us. No big deal, if you are a good swimmer with very, very, very strong arms.

I don't know if they ship in the US, but that's the place I'm going to visit tomorrow.

No.
As with most aspects of wet shaving, variety is what I like most.
Floid is 1 of about a dozen AS splashes I have in my shavery
But it is 1 of my faves.

I finally bought the Floid after shave on Friday and it smells "meraviglioso".
I can hardly wait for tomorrow's shave. I'll get back to you and post my first impressions.

So long!

Today was the day. I finally got to use the Italian Floid after shave.
To my surprise, it did not burn and I mean no burning at all. That was a very pleasant surprise. I don't mind a little burning sensation, but no burn at all is even better.
It's been a few hours now and I can still discern a subtle, gentle and warm scent, that is inviting in a charming way; I am of course talking about the Italian way, la dolce vita and beautiful women smiling a smile in which the beauty of the world is glistening.
